ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
URBAN PARKS
Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of properties and parks. May include:
- Preparing areas for rentals/events
- Turf maintenance
- Hardscape cleaning and maintenance
- Vandalism repair/removal
- Horticulture maintenance
- Waste and litter removal
- Snow removal as needed
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to perform a wide range of physical and manual tasks in and outdoor environment under a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to work hours that are flexible and include weekends and evenings.
- Ability to evaluate conditions in assigned area and make judgments related to safety.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Have and maintain acceptable background information, including criminal conviction history.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to keep accurate records, organize information, supplies and equipment, and follow established procedures.
- Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Ability to operate riding mowers, tractors, truck and trailers, and other landscape equipment.
- Ability to provide information and instruction to individuals and groups.
- Ability to work alone under general supervision

Working Conditions And Requirements
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform a wide range of strenuous physical and manual tasks in an outdoor environment. Physical ability to stand, walk, and kneel. Able to use a variety of long handled, manual, and power tools; and to operate equipment while working in and around moving traffic. Upper body strength to lift up to 40 pounds on a daily basis and over 75 pounds on an occasional basis. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permits the employee to communicate effectively in person.
- Frequently works outside with an exposure to a variety of weather conditions. Works in a setting subject to continuous interruptions and background noises.
