SUMMARY:
The IT and Security Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the City by providing expertise in technology, data security, and administrative processes. This position involves managing systems, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and implementing secure, efficient processes that align with the City, Safety, and IT best practices. Preferably familiar with Criminal Justice Information Service (CJIS).
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Management:
- Administer and optimize information systems and databases
- Collaborate to ensure seamless integration of technologies
- Provide technical support and training for staff on various platforms
Data Security and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain robust data protection measures for sensitive information
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments of systems
- Assist the Safety & Risk Manager with ID Badge issuing and annual ID Badge exchange
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes through technology
- Develop and implement automated workflows and reporting solutions
- Collaborate with teams to understand needs and provide technological solutions
- Create and maintain asset inventory
Reporting and Analytics:
- Generate comprehensive reports and analytics to support decision-making
- Develop dashboards and visualizations for key security metrics
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all systems
Project Management:
- Lead technology implementation projects
- Coordinate with vendors and team to ensure successful project delivery
- Develop and implement the set-up of systems to streamline operations and enhance productivity across departments.

Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or degree in related field and/or Tech School graduate in related field required.
- Relevant and current IT certifications required.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT, administration or a similar role
- Strong understanding of processes and data management principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion
- Proficiency in Excel, data analysis tools, and other Microsoft Office tools
- Desktop IT experience preferred
- Eager to learn and adapt to new systems and software, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
- CJIS experience a plus
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Safety & Risk Manager assigns work in terms of general instruction. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
