Position Summary
Summer is quickly approaching and the City of Bozeman is looking to hire two short-term Engineering Inspectors for the busy summer season!
In this essential role within the City’s Engineering Division of the Department of Transportation and Engineering, you will perform inspections of City public works projects including heavy civil infrastructure construction of streets, water, sewer, and stormwater utilities to ensure compliance with all relevant codes, ordinances and laws. This position requires the ability to create and maintain effective relationships with the City Engineer, Public Works personnel, consulting engineers, contractors, developers, other City employees, and the public. Demonstrated effective communication and customer service skills are required.

Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Non-Exempt
Assignment Details: Not to exceed 90 working days or 520 hours, whichever comes first
APPLICATION TIMELINE:
- Interviews will be held the week of April 8th
- This is a summer opportunity, so the target start date is around May 20th
Minimum Required Qualifications
- At least one year of formal training or education beyond high school in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a closely related field; and
- Preferred experience in utilities/public works construction (preferred not required); and
- Valid Driver’s license; or
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
