Hiring Salary - $19.50 hourly
DEFINITION
Oversee and train tennis instructors for teaching and coaching tennis ages 6-18. Coordinate schedules for lessons, practices and matches. Provide open communication with participants, parents, and coaches.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Works under the direction of the Sport Head Coach. The Assistant Sport Head Coach gives direction to other coaches.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors lessons, practices and matches to oversee the safety of players and ensure the tennis rules are followed.
Listens to concerns, answers questions and addresses coaches, players and parents in a calm, fair and professional manner.
Immediately reports problems, inappropriate situations or behaviors to Sport Head Coach.
Delegates instructions to tennis coaches.
Is available for State Tournament and maintains flexibility of schedule throughout tennis season.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Notifies Sport Coordinator in advance of any schedule changes.
Trains and supervises tennis coaches and provides trainings where techniques and specific rules are taught.
Assures that the site is kept neat and clean throughout the day, maintains supplies/equipment
Attends required staff meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
Knowledge and understanding of CARA Tennis Rules and Regulations required.
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a tennis coach.
Experience working with children ages 6 years to 18 years old.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The candidate must have sufficient strength, agility, stamina and flexibility to move or carry up to 50 pounds, stand, crouch, kneel, bend and stoop while assisting children and adults for extended periods of time. The candidate must have adequate hearing and vision in order to discriminate between different sounds, objects, people and colors at near and far distances.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must pass a criminal background check.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
