Hiring Salary - $16.00 hourly
Hours for this position will be Monday & Thursdays from 10 AM to 2 PM
DEFINITION
Manage the administrative operation of the Volunteers of America (VOA) Dining Center located at Eagle View Adult Center. This position must work well in group setting/peers and with the public, while providing excellent, respectful customer service and human relations skills, which support the City of Brighton's mission and values.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Takes direction from the Eagle View Adult Center Manager. The Program Aide may supervise volunteers.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains accurate records on participants, volunteers, donations and services provided at the dining center at the Eagle View Adult Center in accordance with Volunteers of America procedures.
Supervises and operates the dining center and meal service to assure compliance with federal, state, and agency sanitation regulations.
Completes all assigned paperwork in a timely manner for the dining center.
Maintains accurate accounting of monies donated in accordance with established donation procedures.
Recruits, interviews, places, trains, and supervises select volunteers associated with the dining center. Schedules replacements for scheduled time away from Center.
Orders meals and supplies.
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
Works cooperatively with entire staff to promote all programs at the Adult Center.
Is aware of daily activities at Eagle View Adult Center in order to better assist the senior citizens.
Is aware of senior resources in the area and is able to direct the senior citizens to these services.
Must demonstrate proper personal hygiene and proper food handling practices.
Is familiar with and promotes the goals and objectives, rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the City of Brighton.
Meets regularly with supervisor and other staff for planning and evaluating programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Written communication skills and the ability to demonstrate them in the form of reports and newsletter.
Oral communication skills and the ability to use them when dealing with customers, volunteers, and other staff.
Physical, social, mental and emotional changes that occur with aging.
Common medical conditions and their special dietary requirements.
Volunteer services.
Ability to:
Ability to effectively use good customer service skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of high school or equivalent. One (1) year of working with older adults or other community service organizations.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid Colorado driver's license with safe driving record.
Current certification in C.P.R. and First Aid.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Ability to complete FEMA ICS 100 and IS 700 training within six (6) months of hire.
