Position: Administrative Assistant II - Volunteer Coordinator

Salary: $47,731 - $61,221 (7 Step Salary Structure)
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following
Assumes overall responsibility for coordinating the COA's volunteer services program.
Including
Preferred Education and Experience
High School Diploma and at least one to three (1-3) years related work experience, preferably with the elderly populations or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Special Requirements
CORI certification is required as a condition of employment. First Aid and CPR Certification is preferred within thirty (30) days of appointment. Valid Class D Motor Vehicle Driver's License.
Knowledge, Abilities, And Skills
Considerable knowledge of gerontology and the concerns of senior citizens. strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, the capacity to manage multiple projects, attention to detail, leadership qualities, and the ability to build relationships with volunteers, all while being familiar with the Council on Aging's mission and values; key skills include problem-solving, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity to recruit, place, and manage volunteers effectively.

Including
- Recruiting new volunteers
- Scheduling for reception, kitchen, and where any other volunteer is needed as determined by the COA director or staff.
- Cover unfilled volunteer positions where needed, kitchen, reception and any other area.
- Training of Volunteers Daily oversight of Volunteers
- Coordinating the Senior Property Tax work-off program and oversight of participants Maintain statistics, work with staff to understand and assess volunteer needs, and generate appropriate volunteer opportunities based on these needs.
- Organizing volunteer recognition events
- Entering information into "MySeniorCenter" database.
- Performs other related duties as required or as the situation dictates.
