Location: 1310 City Manager-Communications
Pay Grade: A10
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
The Communications Digital Media Specialist produces, shoots, and edits both short and long-form news stories, promotional video pieces, public service announcements, and documentary-style productions using an array of digital and multimedia tools. This role is specifically tasked with the creation and production of new and existing digital communications initiatives and videos on a daily and/or weekly basis with an emphasis on engaging audiences on social media.
*This position performs duties deemed to be “safety sensitive" and is therefore subjected to random drug testing under the City’s policies*Essential Job Functions
- Video production, to include: story development, planning, script writing, filming, editing, and proofing videos.
- Develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to help share informational and educational content with the public.
- Monitors City of Broken Arrow social media accounts and responds to public inquiries.
- Monitors social media platforms to gain an understanding of public sentiment and current conversations related to all City operations.
- Participates in development of communication strategies with other members of the Communications team.
- Executes strategies through social media campaigns
- Assists with the development of new digital communications initiatives.
- Assists with various communications and engagement programs online and on multiple social media channels.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
