Part-Time Community Service Officer

Location:  3001  Police Pay Grade:  A08 FLSA Status:  Non-exempt

Monday-Friday (30 Hours per week)
9:00AM- 3:00PM 
3:00PM-9:00PM 

Under the supervision of a police sergeant, the Community Service Officer provides services to citizens who come to the Police Department who wish to file a report, want information about services, or need direction. *This position performs duties deemed to be “safety sensitive" and is therefore subjected to random drug testing under the City’s policies*

• Provides assistance and answers questions relating to citizens needing assistance.
• Prepares and processes criminal and non-criminal reports for a variety of infractions, including but not limited to grand/petty theft, identity theft/fraud, stolen/recovered vehicles, and burglaries utilizing mobile software.
• Maintains contact with citizens regarding potential law enforcement problems and preserves good relationships with the general public.  
• Identifies, preserves and collects evidence associated with criminal incidents. 
• Handles follow-ups with citizens on crime reports to obtain further information.
• Appears in court as necessary. 
• Performs other duties as assigned. 

Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by one to two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Oklahoma Class D Driver’s License. Tasks may involve the ability to exert moderate physical effort in medium work, typically involving some combination of balancing, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, visual acuity, walking, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 50 pounds).
