The Recreation & Parks Department is currently recruiting applicants to fill temporary/seasonal positions up to 40 hours a week to assist in the day-to-day maintenance of Edinburgh USA Golf, Brookland Golf Park, and Community Activity Center (CAC). Opportunities are available at a variety of skills and levels from unskilled to skilled laborers. Â

Positions are temporary/seasonal positions that will work up to 40 (forty) hours per week. Â Evening and weekend shifts may be assigned as needed. Â
Work shifts are from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Â Some weekends from 5:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. * Community Activity Center (5600 85th Avenue North):Â Â
Work shifts are flexible. * Edinburgh Clubhouse ( 8700 Edinbrook Crossing):
Work shifts are flexible and include evenings and weekends.
Anticipated Hiring Wage: $15.91 - $21.53 hourly, depending on qualifications and team equityÂ

- If age 17 and no driver's license, pay is $14.91/hour. Â Â
- If age 17 with driver's license, pay is $15.36/hour. Â
- If age 18 and no driver's license, pay is $15.91-$20.16/hour.Â
- If age 18 with drivers license, pay is $16.88-$21.53
- Perform general cleaning as well as general maintenance Â
- Promote harmonious relations with fellow employees, divisions, departments and with the public
- Perform and assist with any Recreation & Parks related duties
- Operate vehicles and/or small equipment (if age 17 or do not have a driver's license, may operate small equipment only e.g., weed whipper)Â
- Operate weed whips
- Operate push mowers
- Operate riding lawn mowersÂ
- Change tee markers and pin placements
- Clean restrooms
- Mechanical and hand rake bunkers
- Wash and park golf cars
- Fill divots on tees and fairways
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor
- Set-up and tear-down of rooms for facility events and activities
- Light janitorial duties
- Other tasks as assigned
- Operate ice re-surfacing machine
- Sharpen skates for customers
- Perform general cleaning as well as general maintenance of facility and grounds maintenance
- Set-up and tear-down of rooms for facility events and activities
- Prepare racquetball courts for use
- Enforce safety rules and regulations that ensures the facility operates in a safe manner

Experience

- 18 years of age or olderÂ

- Previous experience operating small equipment
- Previous park and/or building maintenance experience
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications
- Previous maintenance work experience
- Previous cleaning/janitorial work experience
- Previous experience working with people from various cultural, socioeconomic, racial and ethnic backgrounds
- Fluency in Spanish, Hmong, Russian, Somali or Laotian, Vietnamese language(s)
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 10Â to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally.
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, stooping, kneeling, climbing.Â
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, possibly hazardous
- Work is performed in various conditions, indoors temperature controlled 40-50 degrees and outdoor in various weather conditions.
