The Fiscal Clerk is to provide accounting/fiscal support including entering data, updating and maintaining ledgers, journals, and files, and performing various fiscal functions and calculations. The Fiscal Clerk performs transactional duties to serve Credit Union members by receiving or paying out funds with high degree of accuracy, providing basic cash receipt and payment services in accordance with policies and procedures. The Fiscal Clerk provides account information as well as information on the full range of Credit Union products and services by phone, in person, or in a group setting. The Fiscal Clerk opens accounts for members, interviews, and professionally handles the members daily financial needs.

KEY FUNCTIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Receives, receipts, logs, and posts funds from customers, employees, and the general public. Makes deposits and transfers according to direction of supervisor or established policy.Disburse approved loan funds.
- Prepares and processes invoices, purchase orders, receipts and other financial statements as directed.
- Organizes and files receipts and deposits of revenue and expenditure funds into the accounting system. Files bills, vouchers, forms and statements.
- Performs various accounting functions such as preparing accounts receivable, deposits, and and/ or vacation and leave information.
- Processes billing for third party vendor accounts.
- Coordinates payroll for area of responsibility; processes load sheets, contracts, time sheets, and vouchers.
- Performs routine office tasks such as data entry, typing correspondence, filing, faxing, telephoning and photocopying.
Education and Experience
High school graduation or GED plus one year of experience.
Special Certifications and License
Valid Texas Driver’s License.

Average judgment; must recognize and resolve problems such as bad grammar, type of procedure to apply, where to refer call or correspondence without specified destination, may involve freedom in selection of work methods among approved routines, setting of priorities, or sequencing of tasks within established schedules
