Power Plant Facility Maintenance Technician

The City of Bryan is accepting applications for Power Plant Facility Maintenance Technician. This position performs repair and maintenance of equipment, facilities, and grounds at the Roland C. Dansby Power Plant.

Starting Pay Rate
$19.70-$22.00 (depending on qualifications)

Work Schedule
Monday-Friday; 8am-4:30pm

Responsibilities

• Performs security checks on heating and cooling units in the power plant; reports and corrects malfunctions as required.
• Repairs and maintains electrical switches and other electrical fixtures.
• Repairs and maintains plumbing and repairs plumbing fixtures.
• Builds, repairs, and installs counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, trim, and sheetrock.
• Constructs and repairs structural woodwork, flooring, walls and ceilings, working from blueprints, drawings, and/or verbal instructions.
• Paints surfaces using brushes, spray guns, and/or paint rollers.
• Mows, waters, and maintains plant grounds.
• Assist with custodial work within the power plant.
• Assists mechanics with rigging, drilling, welding, electrical, and other equipment and machinery.
• Enters, records, and/or maintains documentation of work performed as required.
• Performs related work as required.
• Responds regularly and promptly to work.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must possess at least one (1) year of experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or facility maintenance and/or repair work. Experience performing maintenance in a plant environment is strongly preferred

Pay: $19.70 - $22.00 per hour
