The City of Buffalo is looking for talented workers to fill several seasonal positions. We are holding walk-in interviews March 11th and 25th at City Center 212 Central Ave Buffalo, MN 55313 from 3pm to 6pm.Please apply for the seasonal position you are interested in and you will be contacted via email to set up a time for your interview during the walk in interview sessions.Flora Crew team members responsibilities include installation, maintenance, and removal of annuals, perennials, plants, shrubs and trees at various garden sites and planter locations throughout the City with an emphasis on the downtown business area.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
General Maintenance Responsibilities Assists with planting and care of a wide variety of ornamental plants, including weeding, pruning, watering, grooming, staking and deadheading. Assists with preparing garden beds, mulching, and general clean-up to maintain a superior garden appearance at all times. Assures that grounds are kept neat and orderly by picking up garbage and replacing garbage bags in the receptacles.Assists other parks workers in building and grounds maintenance work, including cleaning public restrooms, parks, and facility maintenance. Performs Other Essential Job Responsibilities Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities1. Ability to perform moderately difficult manual labor, including ability to lift heavy objects, to climb heights, and perform other duties associated with the job. 2. Working ability to run small engine equipment such as lawn mowers, weed whips, blowers, and other equipment as necessary.3. Responsible work attitude, as well as reliable, organized work habits.4. Working ability to understand and follow directions.5. Working ability to communicate effectively with the public and enforce the park rules.
