The City of Buffalo is looking for talented workers to fill several seasonal positions. We are holding walk-in interviews March 11th and 25th at City Center 212 Central Ave Buffalo, MN 55313 from 3pm to 6pm.Please apply for the seasonal position you are interested in and you will be contacted via email to set up a time for your interview during the walk in interview sessions.Our seasonal team play vital roles in serving our Buffalo community. This position is responsible for assisting our full-time utility staff with routine maintenance, various labor tasks, repair duties, and general grounds keeping work. The position requires candidates to be dependable, responsible, positive, and safety oriented.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Operational Responsibilities Responsible for various types of manual labor while working with all Utility departments. Operating hand tools & light equipment including but not limited to pickups, mowers, tractors, etc.Responsible for general maintenance and repair.Assist crews with digging, turning valves, running errands, and plant operations.Responsible for cleaning equipment, tools, trucks, and warehousesDuties include but are not limited to mowing, lawn restoration, spraying, fencing, tree trimming, painting, and other duties as assigned.Frequent contact with employees, department heads and leads, and the general public. Observe and adhere to general work rules and safety procedures.Perform maintenance and inspect equipment, tools and safety equipment as directed. Performs Other Essential Job Responsibilities Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExcellent command of the English language, both written and oralAbility to follow both written and oral instructionsAbility to use technology, ie. PC, Ipad, smart phoneKnowledge in Work, Excel software applicationsSkilled in organizing, multitasking, and prioritizing workMust be willing to work hands on in all areas of maintenance and repair regardless of department.Promotes positive customer service relations through daily interactions with must be able to work well alone or with fellow employees, as in being a team playerMust be courteous and professional, as well as customer service oriented.Knowledge of city operations, ordinances, and policies.CPR and First Aid Certified
