Position Details

As a member of our Public Works - Streets and Stormwater team, you'll play a key role in maintaining a safe and efficient transportation system in our community by supporting the operation, maintenance, and repair of Burnsville’s streets, sidewalks, and trails. In addition to contributing to the transportation system, you will also serve an important role in the city’s stormwater management system by participating in various maintenance efforts for our pipe network and lift stations. Your efforts will help keep our city running smoothly and efficiently, making essential contributions to operation and maintenance of our infrastructure.

What you'll bring to help you be successful

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in general maintenance and repair work, including:
    • At least one (1) year operating heavy trucks and other equipment used in Public Works Street Maintenance, such as snowplowing.
  • Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain it within nine (9) months.
  • Local government experience preferred.
