Maintenance Worker Streets

As a member of our Public Works - Streets and Stormwater team, you'll play a key role in maintaining a safe and efficient transportation system in our community by supporting the operation, maintenance, and repair of Burnsville’s streets, sidewalks, and trails. In addition to contributing to the transportation system, you will also serve an important role in the city’s stormwater management system by participating in various maintenance efforts for our pipe network and lift stations. • Building relationships with City staff, contractors, and regulators.
• Responding to calls and emergency situations to serve the public.

• Using technology to aid in implementing maintenance goals.
• Improving processes and finding ways to optimize service delivery.

• Providing quality street and stormwater maintenance operations.
• Proactively seeking continuing education opportunities.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in general maintenance and repair work, including:
  • At least one (1) year operating heavy trucks and other equipment used in Public Works Street Maintenance, such as snowplowing.
• Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain it within nine (9) months.
• Local government experience preferred.

Salary : $70,720 - $88,213
