Qualifications
- High mechanical aptitude with a proven track record in industrial/field applications.
- Must be able to operate a wide variety of equipment, which includes Sewer Cleaning Equipment, Camera Truck, Backhoe, Dump Truck, Skid Loader, Lawn Mower, Snow Plows, etc.
- Must be able to work in all climates, both indoors and outdoors. Possess a healthy stamina that enables climbing, crawling, and confined space entry.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a CDL.
Overview
The Wastewater Maintenance Role is responsible for ensuring that all process and non-process equipment and facility support systems are maintained in optimal condition. Operating within the larger municipal team environment, this position supports and flows to assignments across departments as needed with a goal of improving the community of Butler and the environment in which we live.
Responsibilities
- Daily monitoring/recording of all plant processes (both Water & Wastewater), reviewing for patterns and abnormalities.
- Daily Observation Tour (Minimum 1 per day) to include plant processes and physical condition. During this process, maintain "to do log" and "idea" log.
- Consistently view Water/Wastewater sites & facilities with an eye for improving/maintaining condition/appearance.
- All tool supplies in shop and vehicles are to be appropriately/completely stocked, identified and maintained at all times.
- Develop/maintain thorough site maintenance records for all equipment (process/non-process included).
- Participate in site process Master Planning with an eye to both preventive maintenance and innovation. Purpose to stay ahead of the curve in both.
- Recommends process and equipment upgrades where necessary and, in turn, coordinates equipment installation with all Wastewater personnel.
- Initiate daily personal activities with pride and integrity and minimal oversite.
- Must excel in working alone except when safety warrants otherwise.
- Must be available for emergency response and weekend duties.
- Must become a student all things Wastewater (i.e., NPDES Permit, plant treatment processes, process aid innovations, etc.)
- Works collaboratively across departments to optimize resources and promote a healthy municipal culture.
- Must become familiar with laboratory procedures to support a multi-skilled team environment.
- Maintains safe and secure facilities with everything having an identified place (5S Methodology) and all perimeters secured 24/7.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
