What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Golf Professional-Golf Department position at City of Caldwell?
The City of Caldwell is looking for a full time Assistant Golf Professional to join our Golf Department. Individual works under the Golf Professional to oversee and coordinate golf service operations. Will administer leagues and golf tournaments for both men and ladies golf associations. Works cooperatively with other staff within the golf course to ensure special events and daily golf operations run efficiently. Assist with the management operations of the retail store. Works under general supervision. Directs, plans, organizes, manages, and supervises those activities related to the play of golf; performs professional and technical tasks related to promoting, teaching, and developing golf within the community; operates and manages a golf pro shop; performs related work as required.
Education, Training, and/or Experience Required:
- Graduation from high school or possession of a GED; and
- At least two years’ experience working at a golf course, progressively responsible experience working in a golf course environment, coordinating tournaments, and providing lessons for patrons.
- Functional knowledge of golf rules.
Licenses, Certifications and Other Requirements:
- Possession of a current and valid driver’s license.
- PGA Level 1 golf professional or enroll in the Professional Golf Management Program within 12 months from hire date.
- Subject to a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
