What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard (Part-Time, Temporary) position at City of Campbell?
Under direct supervision of the Recreation Specialist, Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining safety in and around swimming pools. Lifeguards will be expected to conduct rescue operations, administer Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) in emergency situations, attend in service trainings, interact professionally and communicate effectively with swimmers of all ages and the general public, write reports, check in patrons, and organize pool equipment for all aquatic programs.
Schedule: Actual work schedule to be determined through mutual agreement with Recreation Specialist. Employees may be requested to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
SELECTION PROCESS
The most qualified applicants as determined by initial screening of applications will be invited to participate in an interview and lifeguard skills practical testing. Selections will be made from the results of the interviews and skills testing. Tuberculosis test results must be submitted prior to scheduled employment.

- Minimum age at time of hire is 15 years old. (Work permit will be required under 18 years of age)
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid preferred.
- Proof of a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test or the certification form is required prior to employment date
