What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Interest Class Instructor - Water Aerobics/Aqua Fitness (Part-Time, Temporary) position at City of Campbell?
The Campbell Recreation and Community Services Department seeks an experienced Water Aerobics/Aqua Fitness Instructor to teach engaging water exercise classes for patrons either 18 years and over or 50 years and over of varying levels and abilities. Classes are pre-scheduled in our outdoor heated pool on a year-round basis, for weekday and weekend mornings.Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Lead safe and engaging group fitness classes for varying levels and abilities.
- Create an inclusive and welcoming class environment.
- Maintain aqua aerobics equipment and notify supervisor of equipment needing to be repaired or replaced.
- Create a safe, professional, and positive environment through enforcement of policies, rules, and regulations governing the conduct of staff and patrons using the pool.
- Demonstrate professionalism at all times – especially in punctuality, responsibility, personal appearance, respectful communication, and customer service.
- Follow Department guidelines.
- Represent the City and the Department in a positive and effective manner.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisor and participants.
- Minimum age at time of hire is 18 years old.
- Certification from a nationally recognized water exercise or water aerobics organization.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position which requires physical dexterity and fitness to demonstrate exercise movements from pool deck.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Training or CPR certification (desired; not required)
