The City of Canal Fulton is seeking Canal Boat Crew Member(s) to join our team aboard the St. Helena III! If you love being on the water and enjoy working with a small, dedicated crew, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As part of the team, you’ll be responsible for navigating the canal, assisting with traditional piking, and ensuring that every ride is smooth and enjoyable for our passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Piking: Assist with moving the boat along the canal using traditional piking methods to ensure smooth travel.
- Steering: Navigate the boat safely during trips to Lock IV and back, ensuring a safe and enjoyable ride.
- Pre-Ride Preparation: Get the boat ready for each tour by performing safety checks, setting up any necessary equipment, and ensuring everything is in order.
- Post-Ride Clean-Up: After each tour, ensure the boat is put away, cleaned, and ready for the next outing.
- Work with a small, friendly team to ensure the boat runs smoothly and guests have a fantastic experience.
Schedule:
- Several boat rides each month. You will have a flexible schedule with ample opportunity to enjoy time on the water.
Requirements:
- A love for working outdoors and being on the water.
- Previous boating or piking experience is a plus, but not required—we’ll train the right candidate.
- Strong teamwork skills and an ability to work well with others.
- Ability to handle a variety of weather conditions while on the water.
- Enthusiastic about providing excellent customer service.
