Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Building Official at the City of Cape Canaveral in Florida. The Building Official will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing building codes, conducting inspections, reviewing plans, issuing permits, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the safety and integrity of structures within the city.
- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Requires a valid Florida Drivers’ License. Certification as a Building Official (CABO) and State of Florida Building Code Administrators License required. (pursuant to F.S. 468.601 - 468.633)
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University. At least ten years combined experience as an architect, engineer, building inspector, contractor or construction superintendent; or any combination of these with at least five years’ experience in a responsible position as a supervisor, superintendent or a similar supervisory capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience
