General Definition of Work
Performs work responsible for managing daily operations and providing supervision to flight line personnel for the City of Cape Girardeau.
Essential Functions
● Oversees the daily operation of Cape Aviation.
● Performs daily tests of fuels; maintains records.
● Maintains records and performs monthly tests as required by Airlines and the Defense Department for fueling commercial and military aircraft.
● Maintains updated training rosters for employees; trains new employees.
● Gives written tests for FAA and other agencies on the Lasergrade Testing Station.
● Oversees daily office procedures; performs sales and phone procedures.
● Tows, fuels and washes aircraft as requested.
● Maintains current schedules for line personnel.
● Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
● Two (2) years experience as a flight line technician.
● Must pose a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience as a flight line supervisor.
Salary per hour $20.91, plus a generous benefit package.
- Bi-weekly pay periods.
- Twelve paid holidays per year.
- 96 hours of vacation – accrued throughout the year.
- 96 hours of sick leave – accrued throughout the year.
- 2 days of personal leave per fiscal year. Must be employed on July 1 of the fiscal year to receive.
- City paid monthly premiums for health and dental insurance – Employee only.
- City paid monthly life insurance for employee only (1 times annual salary up to $50,000).
- Optional group term life insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
- Optional vision insurance purchased at employee’s expense.
- Voluntary deferred compensation plan – not matched by the City.

- Total compensation value (Hourly starting rate plus benefits value) for this position is $30.75 hourly/$63,967 yearly.
