Essential Job Functions :
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Coordinates all Department purchases; assists with development of specifications; solicits written quotes from vendors; records and compares quotes; completes and processes purchase orders for selected items.
- Reviews incoming shipments and verifies invoices against orders; initiates payment process.
- Coordinates distribution of equipment and supplies to appropriate individual or division.
- Maintains fixed assets records for the Department’s capital equipment and vehicles; assigns identification numbers to fixed assets and enters property records data in computer; coordinates annual audit and inventory.
- Outfits new officers with uniforms and equipment.
- Establishes and maintains inventory of uniforms, equipment and supplies, including office supplies; maintains precise inventory control records.
- Oversees building service team.
- Orders office supplies and janitorial supplies.
- Ensures that new vehicles are properly equipped and in compliance with Department guidelines; coordinates disposition of trade-in vehicles.
- Prioritizes and schedules vehicle maintenance and repair work; transports vehicles to repair facilities; monitors status of repair work to ensure that vehicles are returned to service when needed.
- Enters vehicle gas, and mileage information into database; prepares monthly vehicle report.
- Monitors security of Department facilities and vehicles; controls access to keys and conducts inventory on a periodic basis.
- Performs custodial duties, light building maintenance and repairs; oversees work of contractors doing major repairs.
- Assists with quarterly fire sprinkler inspections, annual fire alarm inspections and quarterly heating and cooling preventative maintenance work.
- Clears snow from Department sidewalks.
- Performs courier duties for supervisory staff.
- Performs other related duties as required.
