Operator I, II, III, Full-Time, Wastewater
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under general supervision, operates water/wastewater plant equipment and daily inspects and records various equipment readings. Responsibilities include collecting water/wastewater samples, performing water/wastewater testing, and performing janitorial duties to plant facilities. Reports to Chief Operator or Superintendent.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma (or GED equivalent) with wastewater operator experiences preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must obtain Class III Wastewater Operator License issued by the State within a reasonable amount of time to be determined by the Water Superintendent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including a pH meter, dissolved oxygen meter, centrifuge, etc. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. Must be able to exert up to thirty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to twenty pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for sedentary work. Must be able to lift and/or carry weight of twenty to fifty pounds.
