The City of Casa Grande Community Services Department if currently recruiting for the following positions: Cashiers, Lifeguards and Swim Instructors, and Pool Manager.

The Palm Island Aquatic Center is open mid-May to mid-September, including the Fourth of July holiday, and staff are expected to work the entire season the pool is open.

LIFEGUARD I
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to work from May to September, up to 33 hours per week.
- This is a guest services position, responsible for providing outstanding guest service by maintaining a positive attitude, being friendly, energetic and outgoing. Guest Services team members greet guests, maintain park cleanliness, sell admission tickets, food or specialty concessions and provide information to guests regarding the operations of the City's aquatic facilities.
- Sell admission tickets and concessions to patrons.
- Handle money and make change as needed.
- Prepare food orders, help set up and store food items as needed.
- Operate a cash register when applicable.
- Answer telephones and provide information.
- Clean and sanitize equipment within the work station.
- Complete daily reconciliation reports.
- Complete daily attendance reports
- Inventory and stocking supplies for the facility
- Sweep, clean and pick up as needed.
- Provide outstanding guest service.
- Other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Management Team.
- Knowledge of daily and emergency facility procedures and policies learned during training
- Knowledge of the daily operation and programs of aquatic facilities learned during training
- Experience involving customer service, handling cash, inventory control and operating a cash register
- Currently possess or have the ability to complete Starfish Swim Instructor Certification (SSI).

LIFEGUARD I
- Must be able to work from May to September, up to 35 hours per week.
- Ideal candidates for this position will be motivated, possess the ability to work in a team setting, have good communication skills, and enjoy a fun, energy filled and challenging work place.
- Observe and Monitor patrons in the water and on surrounding deck areas.
- Check pool and surrounding areas for hazards and potential problems.
- Implement departmental emergency procedures.
- Provide water safety and training, assist patrons in distress.
- Ensure cleanliness and order of aquatic facility.
- Administer First Aid and CPR as needed.
- Assist with programs and classes as needed.
- Provide outstanding guest service.
- Wear sunscreen of 30 SPF or higher.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Management Team.
- Ability two swim 500 yards without stopping
- Knowledge of water safety and rescue procedures
- Ability to swim well
- Ability to administer First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Minimum Qualifications

- Enforce rules and policies to ensure safe conditions and operation of facility.

- Inform Aquatics Coordinator of inventory needs for the facility.
