THE POSITION: LAND DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

ANNUAL SALARY: $102,709 - $134,443

The ideal candidate, under general supervision, provides professional civil engineering guidance through the land development process for the City’s Engineering Division, including the entitlement, plan check, construction, inspection, and completion of land development projects. Performs related duties as assigned.
Training and Experience
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the qualifying knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain these qualifications would be:
- Possession of a valid Class C California driver’s license; and
- Equivalent to a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a related engineering field; and
- Three years of responsible professional civil engineering experience performing duties comparable to those of an Assistant Engineer recent progressively responsible experience performing land development, public works and civil engineering work.
- Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers is required but may be substituted with at least seven (7) years of demonstrated civil engineering land development entitlement experience.
