What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Lifeguard position at City of Cedar Hill?
We are seeking individuals, who have demonstrated a willing commitment to these values, holding them in high regard, to join our award-winning team this summer as Head Lifeguard! This is a seasonal position, scheduled to begin in May 2025.
- Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by educating customers, resolving customer concerns, meeting customer needs, responding to requests and helping to maintain a safe and clean pool environment in a professional manner.
- Assist with training, scheduling, motivating, correcting, and supervising all lifeguard personnel. Ensure that all shifts are covered.
- Assist with rentals, programs, and special events for the pool.
- Oversee general facility maintenance and cleanliness including cleaning bathhouse restrooms, pool house areas, pool, pool deck, pool yard, and pool equipment.
- Coordinates lifeguard rotations and ensures lifeguards are on duty during all pool use. May assist on stand as needed.
- Assists in providing in-service training each week on safety and emergency procedures.
- Render emergency care as needed.
- Ensure all State of Texas and City of Cedar Hill pool regulations and policies are followed during the pool season. Ensures enforcement of regulations and policies by pool staff.
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Requires regular attendance.
- Less than high school education acceptable.
- At least one prior season as a Lifeguard (approximately 3 months), or similar experience required.
- A current American Red Cross certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguarding.
