What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Library Event Attendant position at City of Cedar Hill?
Under the direction of the Creative Events Coordinator, the purpose of the Part Time Event Attendant is to ensure accurate setup of all room rentals, including moving tables and chairs, room breakdown and cleanup as well as light janitorial work. This position supports all rentals and reservations occurring within the library, including working most weekend rentals. This position will also provide marketing assistance to promote and increase rental usage at the library. This position does not provide direction to other employees.
This is a part time position, working approximately 20 hours per week. The schedule will vary, based on event needs and will include evenings and weekends.Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by responding to requests in a timely and professional manner.
Accurately prepares event space for internal and external events, including but not limited to setting up and moving tables and chairs, cleaning tables and chairs before/after setup, taking out trash in event spaces and/or bathrooms, and prepping cleaning supplies for customers during events.
Assists in the coordination of internal and external schedule of events, as well as special events, as needed. Frequently checks weekly rental schedule.
Provides information to the public about Library facilities; specifically focusing on the library event space rentals. Provides tours of the library event space and may occasionally execute rental agreements and payments.
Reports needed repairs and cleanliness of the library event space to the supervisor and/or custodial staff.
Trains in other areas of the library to provide support and backup assistance, as needed, performing other duties as assigned.
Regular attendance required. Includes flexible availability: Opening, closing, weekends, rotating shifts, special events, and holidays if needed.
Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
No experience required. One (1) year of experience in a recreation center reservation/rental/special event position, or closely related field preferred.
Ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire: Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License, CPR, First Aid, AED. CPRP preferred.
