We are seeking an individual, who has demonstrated a willing commitment to these values, holding them in high regard, to join our Water & Sewer Operations Team as Utility Supervisor!
The purpose of this position is to facilitate continuing water and sewer services to the City by providing skilled services. This is accomplished by coordinating and supervising the water and wastewater utilities work crews and utility technicians. Other duties may include organizing departmental operations, assisting citizens, companies and other departments, providing feedback to employees and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position provides direction to other employees.
- Organizes and coordinates departmental operations by scheduling work assignments, prioritizing assignments and projects, reviewing project plans, maintaining records and reports, overseeing process controls, communicating with managers and crews, reviewing work and assisting with budget procedures.
- Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by responding to requests in a timely and professional manner. Assists citizens, companies and other departments by responding to questions and complaints and providing requested information.
- Evaluates employees by monitoring and reviewing work, observing job performance, providing feedback to employees and working to correct employee deficiencies.
- Office functions: reviews and completes of work orders, solicits vendors for parts inventory, research for needed resources for special projects, compiles reports for department.
- Budget Preparation: Solicits quotes for vendors for replacement equipment and any new programs, provides input on present and future needs of the department, and provides research for proposed programs.
- Regular attendance required.
- High school diploma/equivalency required with six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency.
- At least five years of related experience required.
- Valid Texas Class A CDL Driver’s License required.
- Class B Water Distribution License required.
- Class III Collection License required.
