The City of Cedar Park is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Water Compliance Driver. This is part-time position within the Public Works and Utility Department, requiring up to 30 hours per week of overnight shifts, typically 6 – 8 hours per shift
Under the general direction of the Senior Utilities Business Operations Manager, this position operates a motor vehicle to drive around the community, monitor, enforce the City’s codes as it relates to water restrictions and drought management, and make appropriate records for violations. Position investigates complaints related to watering violations and patrols for possible water violations. Position requires self-motivation and sound judgment calls. The ideal candidate must be comfortable operating mobile devices, such as tablets and smart phones, and have excellent map comprehension. The position will require up to 30 hours per week of overnight shifts, typically 6 – 8 hours per shift. Serves as a customer service representative to members of the public.Work Examples
- Operate a motor vehicle to drive around community taking photos of and document watering violations.
- Prepare appropriate records of watering violations.
- Understand and interpret the City's Drought Contingency and Water Conservation Plan.
- Assists with the enforcement of the City's Drought Contingency and Watering Conservation Plan.
- Use Microsoft Outlook to correspond with staff.
- Enter violation documentation into record-keeping system using a mobile device, such as an iPad.
- Responds to inquiries and complaints from customers, as needed
Other Important Duties
- Performs such other related duties as may be assigned
High school graduation, or GED, and customer service experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid Texas Class C driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Directs: This is a non-supervisory position
