The City of Cedar Park is hiring for a Utility Operator I or II to join our team in the Public Works and Utilities- Wastewater and Collections Department. The City of Cedar Park is hiring for a Utility Operator I or II to join our team. Under the direction of the Foreman, performs duties essential to operate and maintain the city's wastewater collection system, including making water and sewer taps, installing and replacing water meters and valves, repairing water and sewer leaks, installing clean-outs, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on water and sewer lines.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Makes water and sewer taps for new services.Repairs water and sewer leaks, including digging holes and trenches, using backhoes, hydro-excavators, and otherequipment, and placing necessary trench shoring.Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on water and sewer lines, including unclogging lines using hydrojets, routers, CCTV trucks, and hand tools, light, and heavy equipment, exercising and/or replacing valves, enteringconfined spaces, and testing for low water pressure.Performs utility line locates.Performs leak site dress-ups by pouring sandy loam over affected area.Runs new main feeders and service lines.Reads and maintains various flow meters, water interconnects, meters/gauges at lift stations, water booster stations,and other utility appurtenances.Performs chlorine tests on new lines.Operates valve-turning equipment.Operate CCTV trucks.Must be able to works On-Call rotation schedule.Maintains fire hydrants and air release valves.
