Leads, guides, and oversees the Fleet Service Division ensuring efficient management of City Fleet garages and administrative functions. Responsible for strategic planning, operational excellence, and fostering a safety-conscious workplace.Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and implements a vehicle and equipment replacement plan, including writing specifications, obtaining quotes, and ensuring compliance with city purchasing policies.
- Assesses and determines lease costs for vehicle and equipment replacement based on life cycles.
- Oversees the development, maintenance, and accuracy of the city-wide fleet data system to optimize operations.
- Develops and manages capital, operations, and internal service fund budgets, monitoring expenditures and addressing variances.
- Prepares reports and analytics to evaluate operational efficiency across Fleet garages and City divisions.
- Supervises and directs the work of assigned personnel.
- Writes queries and reports for analysis of operational costs and tasks in each fleet garage and city divisions
- Creates and delivers presentations to leadership on policies, procedures, and operational improvements.
- Ensures compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA standards and city policies, to maintain a safe work environment.
- Oversees procurement of repair parts, fuels, lubricants, supplies, and tools essential for fleet operations.
- Performs related work as required
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or a related field and five to seven years of experience in Fleet administration, management, and analyzing data OR
- An equivalent combination of experience and education (i.e. one year of relevant full-time experience may substitute for one year of education)
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations
- Supervisory experience in a union environment
- Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm
Salary : $95,389 - $133,474
