About the Position
Administers, develops, analyzes, and maintains enterprise-wide Geographic Information System (GIS) databases, services, applications, and workflows to support the City’s business needs.

- Develops, maintains, and updates enterprise geodatabases. Imports and manages the data files used in the GIS system.
- Reviews, selects, and implements City applications that are Geographic Information System (GIS) specific or utilize GIS. Develops and maintains web services and applications.
- Maintains and edits Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data records.
- Creates production quality map documents.
- Performs analysis on Geographic Information System (GIS) data and related data sources.
- Develops procedures to manipulate and utilize raw data and present data in narrative and graphical formats as required.
- Interprets GIS spatial data pertaining to City departments and divisions and makes data and operational modifications and adjustments to enhance GIS system operations and performance.
- Responds to department and council requests for presentation quality reporting. May make formal presentations relating to GIS.
- Researches current development and innovations involved with GIS and technology.
- Performs related work as required.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Geography, or a related field and
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in the development, operation, and maintenance of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population
Required Licenses or Certifications
- National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Certification within six months of appointment
Desired Qualifications
- GIS experience with a municipality or large governmental organization

Salary : $67,995 - $91,853
