This person will engage with all ages of the community in a variety of settings both within the library buildings and at various outreach and offsite locations. ProgrammingUnder the direction of the Programming Manager, plans and presents library programs for patrons, community partner delivery and library staffSupports development of a cohesive schedule of complimentary programming across ages and skill levelsUpdates and monitors program registration and marketing Represents the library at schools, community events, and off-site or outreach eventsCreates and maintains experiential opportunities for patrons throughout the libraryPatron AssistanceGreets patrons and provides proactive assistanceProvides personalized advisory services to patronsAssists patrons with library account maintenance (check out, placing holds, fines)Helps patrons with general reference and tech assistance Promotes library services, programs and offeringsProvides handoff for supervisory or management support as needed
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Work ScheduleMonday 8:45am-5:15pmTuesday 11:45am-8:15pmWednesday 8:45am-5:15pmThursday 8:45am-5:15pmFriday 8:45am-5:15pmRotation of every third Saturday with a day off during the weekHourly RateThe Programming Specialist is covered under the Library Bargaining Union, and all new hires begin employment at $22.57 per hour, regardless of years of experience. Employees in this classification receive a step increase after 2 years. The steps effective 7/2024 include: New Hire2 years4 years$22.57$26.57$27.37
