About this Opportunity
Duties may include assisting with construction project monitoring for Capital Improvement Projects. Assisting with construction project monitoring may include tasks related to water distribution and system improvements.

- Conduct observation of active water distribution system construction projects;
- Assist with project start-up and close-out;
- Complete construction cost audits;
- Review engineering plans, designs, and specifications for water improvements;
- Operate various engineering survey instruments for determination of precise location of water main, fire hydrants, and valves;
- Research real estate and engineering records;
- Training on reading and understanding construction specifications and codes;
- Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies, procedures and safety practices;
- Attend work regularly at the designated place and time;
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives;
- Perform related work as required.
Acceptable Experience and Training:
Intern IRequires 1 to 2 years of technical training or study towards a Civil Engineering degree, Construction Management degree, or Certified Engineering Technician preferred; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Intern II
Requires 2 or more years of technical training or study towards a Civil Engineering degree, Construction Management degree, or Certified Engineering Technician preferred; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Required Special Qualifications:
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License Required.
- Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm
Salary : $15 - $18
