About this Opportunity
Assists Water Plant staff in the to sustain on-going drinking water treatment programs for the City of Cedar Rapids. Partner with other divisions of Utilities such as WPC, Lab, Environmental, and Engineering to gain knowledge of the Environmental and Utilities related job functions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Collects environmental (water, surface water, groundwater) samples from a variety of sample locations and perform analysis on the samples
Reads and records data from recorders, gauges, computer console and various instrumentation.
Records operational data and observations.
Runs pumps, air compressors and motor drives to accomplish desired outcomes.
Performs data entry and/or review related to respective daily work assignments.
Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies, procedures and safety practices.
Attends work regularly at the designated place and time.
Performs related work as required
Acceptable Experience and Training:
High school diploma or GED required;
1 to 2 years of study towards a degree in operations management, industrial maintenance, or science preferred.
or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Required Special Qualifications:
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:00pm
Salary : $15 - $17
