The candidate will also need attention to detail skills and be able to follow procedures and policies in a safe manner. The candidate in this position will assist with the collection and review of water quality samples and data.

About the Position
Assists Utilities Environmental staff in various watershed program activities.

The City of Cedar Rapids does not offer sponsorship for employment authorization.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collects samples from a variety of point sources and delivers them to the laboratory for processing as per standard operating procedures;
  • Develops promotional and educational content highlighting accomplishments and activities in the general watershed;
  • Assists in collection and review water quality samples and data generated from agricultural edge of field (EOF) practices or watershed tributaries;
  • Performs data entry related to respective daily work assignments;
  • Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies, procedures and safety practices;
  • Attends work regularly at the designated place and time;
  • Performs related work as required.
Required Education and Experience 
  • 1-2 years of technical training or study towards a degree in engineering, agricultural, chemistry, biology, physical sciences, or water environmental technology preferred or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training in agriculture, the watershed, water, or wastewater treatment industry, which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Required License or Certifications
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
  • Work Schedule
    Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm

Salary : $15 - $17
