Essential Job Functions
- Serves as front-line resource to patrons of City of Celina Parks and Recreation facilities, with an emphasis on sport league practices and games
- Supervises use of each facility so that field-use schedules are followed appropriately
- Enforces rules of each facility
- Respond to accidents and incidents that happen at park facilities
- Assists facility patrons with questions about sport offerings and facility rentals
- Manages the opening and closing of facilities for scheduled activities
- Utilize various manual, gas, and hand held electrical tools and equipment in maintaining, installing or repairing playground equipment, fences, or related structures, i.e., drills, hammers, shovels.
- Drag baseball fields, set base stakes, and mark fields for ball games.
- Other duties as assigned
Other Important Duties
- Conduct periodic work in the office to help with league management and facility scheduling
- Assist with operation and management of concession stand operation
- Be knowledgeable of City events and activities Be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours
- Perform related work and duties as directed or assigned.Â
Required Knowledge And Skills
- Knowledge of customer service and public relations practices and methods.
- Knowledge of computers and related equipment, hardware and software for utilization of managing sport leagues and facilities (Sport Engine)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to use programs as needed
- Knowledge of City policies and procedures
- Skill in effective oral and written communications
- Skill in resolving employee and customer complaints and concerns
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Active certification for CPR/AED/First-Aid or ability to acquire within 6 monthsÂ
- Must pass all relevant pre-employment screening/tests/examinations.Â
- Must possess State of Texas Driver's License or be able to acquire within a reasonable time.
Environmental Factors And Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Work is performed mostly in an outdoor environment with some indoor and office timeÂ
- May be subject to exposure to extended periods of standing or sittingÂ
- May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling and lifting such as when moving sports equipment. May be required to lift/push/pull/move up to 50 pounds occasionallyÂ
- May be exposed to hostile or angry employees and customers.Â
- Equipment utilized includes personal computer, (Microsoft Office), tablet or other mobile devices, copier, calculator, telephone and City vehicles.
- Knowledge equipment used in maintenance duties for parks and recreation facilities.Â
- Safety equipment to properly maintain league and program safety.
- Various hand tools used to complete and repair playground equipment, structures and fences.
