Position: Administrative Assistant - Police Department
Open: January 24, 2025
Closes: February 7, 2025
Status: full-time, exempt, non-represented
Salary: $5,646 - $6,915/mo
Position will not begin until April 1, 2025
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under direction, supervises and schedules staff (Police Records Technicians and Public Records Specialist) that supports and maintains a public service walk-in counter and management of law enforcement reports, records and information systems. Performs a variety of specialized activities and administrative staff support work involving research, organization, analysis and presentation of information and data needed to plan and evaluate departmental services, and otherwise provides support to projects and assistance to senior staff, department members, City staff and the public.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. The employee must pass a comprehensive background screening.
2. The employee must possess an Associate Degree, or equivalent number of college units, in business administration, public administration or a closely related field and three years of progressively responsible clerical experience, or any combination in the professional staff support field of training and experience which demonstrates that a person has obtained the required knowledge and is able to perform the work required (with reasonable accommodation, if necessary.)
3. The employee must have a valid Washington State driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the City and the City's insurance carrier.
