Position: Apprentice Meter Technician - Light Department

Open: January 22, 2025

Date Closes: February 5, 2025

Status: Full-time, IBEW union

Salary: $45.94 - $58.98/hr (2025 wages)

General Function:
Performs duties necessary to learn to operate and maintain an electrical utility meter department. This includes learning maintenance, repair and testing of all equipment in the meter inventory. Upon completion of 6000 hours of the apprenticeship, education and testing, moves on to journeyman meter technician.

This classification description reflects the general concept and intent of the classification and should not be construed as a detailed statement of all the work requirements that may be inherent in a position.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D. with at least one year of college level math and at least two years of work experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job. Math competency exam will be given to candidates.

Must have or be able to obtain a valid Washington State driver’s license immediately from date of hire with an acceptable driving record.
