Job Summary
Located 14 miles from downtown Atlanta, Chamblee is a vibrant urban city with a diverse community and international flair seeking highly qualified individuals to fill positions for P.O.S.T. Certified Police Officers. The Police Officer position is responsible for a wide range of law enforcement functions to maintain law and order, promote public safety and security, as well as prevent crime. The incumbent may be assigned to a specialty area within the Police Department depending on operational needs. Upon completion of P.O.S.T. Certification, the successful candidate must possess knowledge of law enforcement and terminology, including criminal investigation, law enforcement and crime prevention; first-aid principals and techniques; report preparation and record keeping; and human behavior theories related to criminology, crisis intervention and crowd control.

Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required
High School Diploma or equivalent education; Associate's Degree preferred
21 years of age or older
Georgia P.O.S.T. Certification strongly preferred
Successful completion of the pre-employment process including : interview, polygraph test, psychological examination, background check, physical exam, and drug test
