The City of Chandler Police Department, Communications Unit is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Police Dispatcher . The Police Communications Dispatcher receives, dispatches, and monitors emergency (911) and non-emergency calls for police and other city services. This is a regular, full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. The position is scheduled to work various shifts and hours. The Chandler Police Communications Unit is open 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. These positions are required to work various schedules to include days, swing-shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays. NOTE : We are currently offering a Dispatcher Hiring Incentive of $2,000 paid in two installments. New hires will receive $1,000 paid on their first paycheck; and will receive $1,000 paid upon successful completion of the probationary period.

Application Process
This is a regular full-time, non-exempt position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available. The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug test as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment. Applicants for employment and volunteer opportunities should be aware of the City of Chandler's policies concerning the use of drugs and alcohol.
