The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in Lifeguard II (part-time, temporary, non-benefited) Swim Instructor. This position serves at the discretion of the department director.
This opportunity is only open to 1) current regular City of Chandler employees, 2) those participating in a city-approved internship or apprenticeship program, and 3) temporary employees who are paid through the city payroll system.

Who we are looking for
Chandler Aquatics is seeking responsible, self-motivated, and energetic Lifeguards to join our team. We are looking for someone with the knowledge and skills to recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies along with the knowledge and skill set to instruct our Starfish classes ranging in age from 6 months to adults. The ideal candidate will be passionate and dedicated about water safety and the well-being of our guests and teach participants how to swim in a fun and creative environment.

Lifeguard II ($18.67 per hour)
• 1 year of high school and no experience required; and
• Nationally recognized Lifeguard Certification; and
• Swim Lesson Instructor Certification within 2 months of hire or promotion; and
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired Qualifications
• Previous Lifeguard Experience
Applicants for employment and volunteer opportunities should be aware of the City of Chandler’s policies concerning the use of drugs and alcohol. These policies have not been altered by the passage of Proposition 207. The use of recreational marijuana is a violation of the city’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
