The City of Charleston Illinois is seeking a part-time Community Service Officer (CSO). The pay is $16 - $16.40 per hour, 15 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday. Position includes Paid Personal Leave accrual of 1 hour earned for every 40 hours worked. The CSO supports the efforts of the Charleston Police Department by providing services to the community while also supporting every division of the Charleston Police Department.

Job Responsibilities include:
Customer Service: lost and found/issuing parking passes as well as communication with other agencies and confrontational people
Walking around square 4 X day: parking enforcement, sometimes in adverse weather conditions
Clerical duties: generating reports/data entry/proficient with LE software programs (LEADS, Parallels, Tracers/RMS)/answering phones/assisting people at the window
Fingerprinting individuals
Currier between city hall and the courthouse
Availability:
3 days on (M,W,F), two off and 2 days on (T,Th), 3 off and Rotating
Farm Season Coverage: Fall harvest & Spring planting seasons (M-F)
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid Illinois driver's license. High School diploma or equivalent required, and pass an extensive background investigation.
