Job Description
Chesapeake Public Works department is seeking a customer service oriented candidate to maintain acceptable inventory of supplies and necessary paperwork and documents.

Other duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Performs miscellaneous office work. Effectively communicates with EZPass with regards to inventory, deposits, customer accounts, reconciliation of accounts, transponders and revenue.
  • Maintains transponders on the Discount Program, and update information in customer accounts.
  • Effectively communicates with toll system contractor to resolve account issues and equipment problems.

Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Requires high school diploma or GED and any combination of education and experience equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education in bookkeeping or a closely related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of six months of related, full-time equivalent experience.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
Depending on position, may require a valid driver’s license in compliance with the City Driving Standards.

Preferred Qualifications
Money handling (counting, verifying and reconciliation) experience, spreadsheet experience, and operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
