Job Description
Public Works is seeking a customer-service oriented individual with excellent organizational, and verbal/written skills to provide technical and administrative engineering support to the Engineering – Contractual Services Division.

The selected candidate will be the primary contact/administrator of selected operation service contracts such as:
  • Mowing
  • Landscaping
  • Cave-in repairs
  • Other small construction contracts for right-of-way infrastructure repairs.


This position requires the knowledge of basic computer software including City used programs such as:
  • Maximo
  • PeopleSoft
  • G.I.S. Ability to read construction plans.

Required Qualifications
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate’s degree in engineering or a closely related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of three years of related, full-time equivalent experience.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Depending on departmental operational requirements, may require valid driver’s license and driving record in compliance with City Driving Standards; may also require additional certifications based on the department needs.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
