$3,000 SIGNING BONUS *
$4,000 annual CDL Stipend (if applicable)*

It takes someone very special to be an Equipment Operator II who operates heavy machinery and to repair/maintain water systems! And we are looking for YOU to utilize that special talent to make a difference in our community as an Equipment Operator II
As an Equipment Operator II, you will work as part of a team utilizing those special talents to:
- Operate backhoes, dump trucks, tanker trucks, and vacuum trucks.
- Install and repair water service lines and assist in the repair of water mains.
- Assist in the restoration of job sites by removing debris, restoring grass, concrete and asphalt surfaces.
- Perform administrative tasks associated with execution of work.

Requires completion of 10th grade in high school. High school diploma, GED OR specialized vocational training is preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standard, this class requires a minimum of six months of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
- Requires a valid driver’s license and driving record in compliance with City Driving Standards.
- A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to confined spaces. Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
Applicant must obtain a tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire.
Basic knowledge of pipe repair techniques and maintenance is preferred.
