Job Description
The Sheriff’s Office is looking for skilled people who take pride in their work to join our team. You will be responsible for enduring our facilities and equipment re operating at 100% daily. you will be working in a high security environment. We have a great team with a positive attitude that ensures you and the rest of the staff a great experience from start to finish each day.
We maintain buildings, structures, fixtures and equipment. Perform installation , modification, maintenance, and repair of facilities to include electrical, carpentry, mechanical, plumbing, masonry and outdoor structures. Perform tool inventories for outside contractors. Responsibility for facility keys and providing staff and contractors access to secure areas inside the facilities.

Required Qualifications

VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Requires high school diploma or GED and any combination of education and experience equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education in a construction or maintenance trade, or a closely related field. SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards. Special skills or equipment certification may be required. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Performance of essential functions may require exposure to confined spaces. Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.



Preferred Qualifications
Some experience in maintenance work ( or related fields). Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical. The ability to use power tools. The ability to trouble shoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues. Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
