Daytime Rink Supervisor
JOB TITLE: Daytime Rink Supervisor
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt – Part Time
DEPARTMENT: CRE/Ice & Events
SUPERVISOR: Ice & Events Manager, Program Coordinator & Maintenance Supervisor
SALARY: $12.00 to $15.00 per Hour
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
This position’s primary role is to provide excellent customer service to patrons. Applicant must have a sound work ethic and be diligent in facility upkeep practices.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Excellent customer service
- Handling customer questions and concerns
- Money handling
- Concessions and food handling
- Provide information to patrons concerning programs, pricing, and schedules
- Booking and scheduling birthday parties
- Facility opening and closing
- Custodial services, not limited to sweeping, mopping, glass cleaning, cleaning restrooms and locker rooms
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
- Any duties assigned by the Ice and Event Manager, Program Coordinator, and Night Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- General office equipment
- English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Work independently in the absence of supervision
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Adapt to changing work conditions
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, outside agencies, City staff, and the public.
- Willing to be trained in Olympia ice resurface usage
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Required:
High school diploma or GED or working toward such.
Must be able to work weekday mornings, primarily from 9am-3pm
Preferred:
Post high school.
Experience within related facility.
Other:
Must be at least 17 years at time of apply.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, communicating with others, reading, and writing. The employee is also required to maintain physical condition necessary for operating assigned equipment, walking, standing, kneeling, repeated bending or sitting for prolonged periods of time and lifting to 30 pounds. Maintain mental capacity which allows the capability of making sound decisions demonstrating intellectual capabilities.
Working Environment:
Both indoor and outdoor environments, and cold working conditions. Irregular work hours, including nights and weekends.
