Laborer/Recycling
Department: DPW - Sanitation
Employment Status: UFCW Laborers, Non-Exempt, Full-Time (40 Hours)
Salary: Grade 4L, Step 05, $17.70/Hour
Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30AM-4:00PM
Certifications/Licenses Required: MA Class D Driver’s License (Must be obtained within (6) six months of hire)
SUMMARY
The City of Chicopee’s Department of Public Works – Sanitation/Recycling Division is hiring a Laborer whose primary responsibility will be picking up and loading trash and recycling materials throughout the city into vehicles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Runs a hopper.
- Picks up trash/recycling products.
- Loads trash into hopper.
- Cutting brush and grass.
- May be assigned to litter clean up.
- Adheres to all state, federal, and local safety regulations as well as City of Chicopee Health and Safety policies.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License (Must be obtained within (6) months of hire) - Required
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
